Q: What do you mean by “I have to be willing to do the work?”
A: As the site address indicates, David Latham is a guide to your healing. He will direct you to where the information or details lie within your life and body. As with the best self help, you will do the specific inner work. This includes changes in diet, body exercises, stretches or other techniques. There will be suggestions, but you must be willing to try. The Latham Approach’s lasting healing cannot occur when someone else gives all the information to you, but rather when you find out the details as they relate to you on your own.
Q: How quickly will I see results?
A: Results vary widely, but all clients normally feel something significant has happened from the very first session. The severity and length of a current condition often dictate response time, but the release or best relief from pain can be achieved. In addition, it is essential that a client genuinely believes a condition can improve in order to see quick results.
Q: How many sessions do clients usually take?
A: The Latham Approach™ and your self-empowerment will assist you in achieving your goals as quickly as possible and give you the tools to manage issues as they arise afterwards. However, at the first session or contact, goals will be established and David will estimate how long it will take to achieve them. However, a more definite understanding can only come after seeing your level of dedication to the work along with your rate of progress. There may also be other considerations related to your personal life. Readings are often 1 or 2 sessions, spaced apart, depending on the individual’s assignments and their completion time. Frequency of professional counseling sessions depends on the client’s progress, but each session can stand alone. It is never necessary for you to continue. If asked, David Latham may suggest a plan, but the client and David decide together how to move forward. Clients are always responsible for how fast they want to move, along with when and what type of session they book.
Q: Do I need to fully understand and/or see the details from my past to heal?
A: No. In fact, some people get too caught up in the psychological details and lose the point. Most people can come to recognize the source of something without all the gritty details and see significant results. Remember: Awareness then Ownership (without judgment) and then Change follows easily after.
Q: What do people wear during bodywork?
A: Clients are encouraged to wear workout type clothing so that contact with their musculature is possible. One of the most important parts of working in this way is that a person feels comfortable enough to allow themselves to go inward during the work and be guided (when necessary). Thick or heavy clothes are not recommended.
Q: I have an older relative with chronic health issues. Can the Latham Approach™ help them?
A: David Latham has treated infants to elderly patients with outstanding results. As with all successful participants, a mature client must be a willing partner, ready to work within themselves in order to change.
